My wish list.

These rifles are on my wish list. Got to start saving my pennies.

Enfield P-1853 Three Band Rifle. Used by both sides during the Civil War.

Springfield Trapdoor rifle. It came into service just after the US after the Civil War and various models of served until 1893. The one pictured is the Model 1873.

Springfield Model 1896 KRAG rifle. Use by Teddy Rosevelt during the Spanish American War.

Gun of the day.

Today's blog is brought to you by the letter "Z" and the Ballester Molina .45 cal Pistol. As you can tell I'm not much of a handgun guy but I do like my Argentinian M1911 look alike. My wife is a deadly shot with this thing too. I got her a Walther PPK style pistol like James Bond uses but she hated it. However, she really likes the Molina and the way it feels in her hands. You should see the smile on her face when she pulls the trigger on this thing. Got to keep my lady happy. I guess I'll let her keep it.

Argentinian Ballester Molina shoots the .45cal round

Hungarian PA-63 shoots the 9mm Makarov round

What the heck is this?

OK, so I'm outside walking the dogs when I look up and see this. This is the weirdest thing I've ever seen in the sky. Looks like the con-trail of an aircraft flying in circles with a few zigzags thrown in. Anyway ... You decide.

My American Battle Rifles

I have to post something about my collection so I decided to show you my American Battle Rifles.

This is my M1917 rifle. Used during the War to End All Wars. Otherwise know as WWI.

Here is my M1 Garand. WWII era purchased from the Civilian Marksmanship Program.

Last but not least is my M1903. It too is from the Great War (WWI) and was made in 1918. This one also came from the Civilian Marksmanship Program.

Really want to get a M1892 Krag rifle and a Springfield M1868 Trapdoor rifle. Guess I better save my pennies.

Soory I took so long.

Aren't they cute? My two favorite people sound asleep.

Hi Gang,

As you can see I haven't updated my blog in quite some time. Let me catch you up on what's been happening these days.

Yep, it's May now and no longer snowing as in my last posting. However, it is still a bit cool for May. We've been having lots and lots of rain. I love rain so it's OK with me but Faith hates it because the rain interferes with her soccer games. That reminds me ... only two games left. Today at practice it was Parents against Kids today. They kicked out butts, 2 to 0!! Ouch! I hurt in places I forgot I had. Can't wait to see how I feel when I wake up tomorrow. My wonderful wife made a yummie dinner for Faith and I. They say that the way to a man's heart is through his stomac but I would Love her even if she was a terrible cook. Tricia and Faith are the best thing to ever happen to me. Thanks You God for sending them to me just when I them most.

Well, it's getting late so I'll go for now. More to come soon.

It's Snowing!!!!

Well, I wanted snow and we finally got it. Faith and Tricia are on pins and needles now waiting to see if they will get a snow day tomorrow. It won't make a difference either way for me. In all my time working at Indian Head the best they have ever done is authorize liberal leave. So ... I'll be trucking it into work in the morning. As you can see from the pictures Faith was really excited. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
See Ya Later!

I took these a few years ago and stumbled across them again the other day. It's December and nearly 50 degrees today. Where's the snow? It's winter .... Where's the snow? I've been looking forward to some of that cold wet white stuff for a while. Sure would have been nice to have a white Christmas this year. Faith really wants a snow day from school. BRING ON THE SNOW!!!!

Just wanted to say that I LOVE my family!

Fixer uppers!

As promised here are some pictures of my GEW 88's before and after restoration. As you can see they were rust buckets with missing parts and/or stocks. Most of them were being sold as parts rifles when I bought them. All they needed was a little TLC.
